Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, the Cap: one town, three arrivals
Antibes is the second-largest town in the Alpes-Maritimes by population after Nice, and a town with two postcodes: 06600 for Antibes, 06160 for Juan-les-Pins and Cap d’Antibes.
For a traveller, these are three different destinations. Old Antibes and Port Vauban, to the east, around the ramparts; Juan-les-Pins, to the south-west, with its pine grove and sandy beaches; and in between, Cap d’Antibes, with its villas and grand hotels at the end of narrow roads.
For Driver, Let’s Go!, it is a single fare: the ride between Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and Antibes or Juan-les-Pins costs €85, in either direction, whatever the postcode of your address.
Where Thierry drops you in Antibes, district by district
In Antibes, the best drop-off point depends on the district: the old town is partly pedestrianised, the port has its own entrances, and the villas on the Cap often have a gate you will need to specify.
| District | What you’ll find there | Drop-off |
|---|---|---|
| Old Antibes | Ramparts, Provençal market, Picasso Museum in the Château Grimaldi | On the edge of the old town; the lanes are finished on foot |
| Port Vauban | The yachts, Fort Carré | At the quay entrance or harbour master’s office you specify |
| Juan-les-Pins | The Pinède Gould, sandy beaches, seafront hotels | Outside the hotel or residence |
| Cap d’Antibes | Villas, grand hotels, coastal path | At the gate: give the villa’s name and the access code |
| Sophia Antipolis | The technology park, its offices and hotels | Outside the building; price given before the ride |
Sophia Antipolis is not covered by the Antibes / Juan-les-Pins fixed fare: the price is given when you book.

Fort Carré, at the entrance to Port Vauban
Fort Carré, a 16th-century star-shaped fortress reworked by Vauban, watches over the entrance to the port of Antibes from its peninsula; it is open to visitors, and its outline is a landmark for the whole bay.
You reach the fort by the seafront road north of the port, then on foot to the entrance. It is the best viewpoint over Port Vauban and its superyachts, and an easy stop to fit in at the start or end of an airport transfer.
For crews and boat owners, pickup is at the quay you specify: give the name of the boat, and Thierry meets you at the gangway or at the quay entrance, depending on what the port allows.
Why the fare is fixed for Antibes, and not elsewhere
Antibes / Juan-les-Pins is one of the four rides Thierry does often enough to have set the price once and for all: €85, 25 minutes as a guide, tolls and luggage included.
| Ride | Fare | Per person? |
|---|---|---|
| Nice Airport → Antibes or Juan-les-Pins | €85 | No, per trip, up to 4 passengers |
| Antibes or Juan-les-Pins → Nice Airport | €85 | No, per trip |
| Antibes → Cannes, Monaco, central Nice | Given before the ride | — |
| A half day from Antibes | €320 · 4 h · 100 km included | No, for the car |
The competitors we checked for “vtc antibes” advertise prices “from” €68 or €90, depending on the vehicle class. At Driver, Let’s Go!, there is only one car, a white Tesla Model Y, and only one fare for this ride: that one.
What slows down the road to Antibes in summer
Between Nice airport and Antibes, the route follows the Villeneuve-Loubet seafront or the A8 motorway; in July and August, both get busy at beach time and when everyone heads home.
Jazz à Juan
The jazz festival in the Pinède Gould, every July since 1960: on concert nights, Juan-les-Pins fills up, and so do the streets around the pine grove.
The Provençal market
In the mornings, in Old Antibes: the old town is busier, and drop-off is on its edge.
Saturday changeovers
In summer, many holiday rentals change hands on Saturdays: the airport road gets busier too.
The 25 minutes Thierry quotes apply to a clear road. For a ride to the airport, he suggests a pickup time that takes the day and the season into account.

What Thierry checks before a ride in Antibes
Before a pickup in Antibes or Juan-les-Pins, six details save circling the neighbourhood and last-minute phone calls.
The postcode
06600 or 06160: it tells straight away whether it is Antibes, or Juan-les-Pins and the Cap.
The villa’s name
On Cap d’Antibes, many houses are known by their name rather than a number.
The gate code
Gated residences and villas: the code, or the person to call on arrival.
The quay, at the port
Port Vauban is big: the boat’s name or the quay saves searching.
The number of suitcases
3 large and 2 small fit in the Tesla Model Y; any more, let Thierry know.
The flight number
For a departure, it sets the pickup time; for an arrival, it tells the terminal.
Old Antibes, the ramparts and the Picasso Museum
Old Antibes is the historic town enclosed by its ramparts facing the sea, between Port Vauban and the Cap; above the ramparts, the Château Grimaldi houses the Picasso Museum.
In 1946, Pablo Picasso set up his studio in the Château Grimaldi and painted there for several months; the château became the Picasso Museum in 1966. It is one of the first museums devoted to the painter, and one of the few you can visit with the sea right below the windows.
Around it, the lanes of the old town lead to the covered Provençal market on Cours Masséna and to the walk along the ramparts. Some of these streets are pedestrianised: drop-off is on the edge, on the port side or the ramparts side, and Thierry shows you the way. For a day taking in other painters’ museums, see the museums page.
Cap d’Antibes: villas, the coastal path and narrow roads
Cap d’Antibes is the peninsula that separates Antibes from Juan-les-Pins: villas among the pines, grand hotels, the Garoupe lighthouse on its hill and a coastal path that runs right round it over the rocks.
The roads on the Cap are narrow and lined with walls; many properties have nothing but a gate and a name. For a pickup, the villa’s name, the road and the access code save U-turns. For a walk along the coastal path, Thierry can drop you at one end and wait for you at the other, as part of hourly hire.
The Cap shares the 06160 postcode with Juan-les-Pins. The fare for a transfer from the airport is confirmed for the exact address when you book.
Sophia Antipolis: for business travellers
Sophia Antipolis, the technology park founded in 1969 on the hills north-west of Antibes, spreads across several towns, Antibes among them; its companies and hotels welcome business travellers arriving through Nice airport.
For a meeting in Sophia Antipolis, there are two options: a transfer from the airport, priced when you book according to the building, or a four-hour half day (€320) when the day strings together several meetings and a return to the plane. In the car, the Wi-Fi lets you work on the way.
Payment by bank transfer, with an invoice, suits business travel: just mention it when you book.
For a seminar or a team arriving on several flights, each transfer is booked separately, with the person’s name on the sign: the Tesla takes four passengers at a time, and Thierry handles the arrivals one after another according to landing times.

Outings from Antibes with a driver
Antibes is a good base for the Riviera: Cannes to the west, Saint-Paul-de-Vence to the north, Nice and Monaco to the east.
In town, the Picasso Museum occupies the Château Grimaldi above the sea, and Fort Carré watches over the entrance to the port. The coastal path on Cap d’Antibes is walked on foot; Thierry can drop you at the start and pick you up at the end, as part of hourly hire.
For a painters’ day, Antibes combines with Cagnes-sur-Mer and Vence: see the Riviera museums page. For dinner on the port or in the old town, the restaurants page explains how to arrange the ride back.
